I haven't been able to work on the car much lately due to work and such. I should be moving into a new shop soon that should help move things along quite a bit. I've been buying little things here and there for the car but i'm holding off on buying much for the turbo system and engine until I see exactly what is going to happen for next year with our local racing stuff.
A couple of things i've decided to change up to help me run different classes as well as safety for the future..
I'm now going to minitub the car so I can run a 15x12 with dbl beadlocks, this will allow me to run many different tires other than the 275 radial (which is the tire i'll run 95% of the time) and the beadlocks will make changing tires much easier.
I'm also going to do ahead and buy the rest of the bars to make the cage 25.5, all I need is the funny car cage and some extra bars here and there. I figured I might as well do it now so I don't have to tear the interior apart later on to do it.. and yes I plan on going that fast..
I'm also going to go with a set of Stainless Works forward facing turbo headers to make for a nice symmetrical and clean look, as well as they should make good power. I just have to make sure they will clear the heads/valve covers that I decide to run. I'm also going to run a twin set of PTE 46mm wastegates that I got a good deal on to help get the best boost control on the starting line. I also plan on facing the turbo out the grill and splitting the downpipes out each fender.
I had to wait forever for the intake, Edelbrock had some problems with their powercoating on a couple of batches but it turned out pretty nice. It should look nice in the engine bay..
